  • How many hours do you stay for the wedding?
I start the coverage from the pre-ceremony preparations until the last scheduled event.  In other words, we pretty much cover your entire wedding day.  This is included no matter which package you go with.

How may pictures do you take?
I take lots of pictures to capture the momments I want to capture.  Most couples typically end up with about 600-900 pictures to choose from.

Do you shoot digital or film?

I love digital.  First, it allows me to shoot unlimited pictures during your wedding.  I'm never concern with cost per photo.  You end up with many more wonderful pictures.  Traditional film photography can get quite expensive (approximately $1 per picture taken). This means that it would cost us $600 to take 600 pictures for you.  That cost is usually reflected in a higher package price.  By shooting digitally I'm able to keep the price reasonable and at the same time offer you unlimited shooting.

The main reason I photograph digitally is flexibility.  Because I can switch from different lighting situations more rapaidly, and because I can switch from color to black and white or sepia instantly, I'm able to be more creative and stylistic.  That means you end up with more cool pictures.

Yet there is another very important reason.  Shooting digitally assures us accuracy in what we take.  With traditional film photography there is always a lot of guesswork.  Digital photography takes a lot of the guesswork away.

Is digital as good as film?

Alot of people argue about that. Some argue that nothing is as good as film.  I prefer to not compare it to film, but to master it as its own medium, and recognize its advantages and disadvantages and work accordingly.  I feel digital is the best way to go for my brand of wedding photography.  It allows me to work fast, be more creative, and to double check my expose and composition right away.  With film, I would have to take it on faith that I got the shot I wanted, and I would have to be more conservative with my shots.

What kind of camera and equiptment do you use?

I use a combination of different cameras, including the Canon D1 Mark 11 and the Canon 5D, and 20D camera.  These are excellent tools and they are state of the art.  I bring a variety of lens to each wedding to capture the angles and composition that I want.  Pictures may be taken with lens ranging from 15mm fisheye lens to 300 mm telephoto lens.  I also have available different lighting solutions to deal with a variety of lighting needs.

Do you use flash or natural light?

This really depends on the location and what I want to covey.  Sometimes I use reflectors and sometimes I use flash.  I really prefer to use available light whenever possible as it allows a more natural ambiance.  It's not a beter of what's better.  It's a matter of what's best for what I want to convey at that moment.

    What's better, photojournalisitc or traditional?

Personally, I like to combine the best of both worlds.  I believe good wedding photography captures the moments as they occur.  I like to show real interaction and emotions ...laughter, tears, love, joy.  However, traditional posed photography can have an elegance and beauty that can't be argued with.  Both styles have a place in every wedding I do.  I also like adding a stylistic flair to my pictures.

    Do you offer video coverage?

I don't offer video coverage.  I specialize in wedding photography and I like to concentrate on just one thing.  I really don't believe in the one-stop-shop idea...for groceries yes, but not for your wedding memories.

How do I reserve you for my wedding or event?

Most people book with me right over the phone after they've viewed the wedding photos posted on my website.  I have over 200 photos on this website to give you a good sense of my style.  My rates are also posted so it’s easy to know what my packages cost.  If you feel you need to meet in person please call me to schedule an appointment at my showroom.  I have two locations to serve you in San Jose bay area and in Fresno central valley.

How much is the deposit to reserve you for my wedding?

The deposit is equal to 1/3rd of the total package price, not to exceed $700.  The balance is paid in two equal installments. We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, or Discover as well as personal checks or cash.

    Do you accept credit cards?

We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, or Discover as well as personal checks.

What if you're already booked for my wedding day?

As a rule, I only reserve one wedding per day for myself to photograph.  I do this because if you have to have a last minute schedule change I can be in a position to accommodate you.  I also like give all my energy to the couple I'm with that day.

However, I do have several assistant photographers who are very good.  I offer their photographic services on days that I'm already personally booked.  They are very passionate about wedding photography photograph in the same style I do.

Are your assistants as good as you?

I select associate photographers who compliments my style.  Each brings his own unique vision and experience.  You reallly should review their work and decide for yourself who's style best fits you. Click here to see their work.

Can I view your assistant's work?
Just go to the Contact page and click on the link to view my associate photographer's portfolio.

How do I view the pictures after the wedding?

I provide two methods for viewing the wedding proofs.  First, I post all the photos online to a personal website which is password protected.  Friends an family are able to view the photos as long as they have the link and password.  This makes it very easy for everyone to view the wedding photos.  Once online, anyone may also purchase any print they link and have it shipped to them directly.  This makes it very easy for you!

In addition to posting the photos online, we will also ship you a proof CD or DVD so you can view the photos at higher resolution and size than what is possible online.  This makes it easier for you to compare photographs.

In order to keep the prices down, I've made a decision not to provide paper proofs.  If you really would rather have paper proofs, I will make it available at an additional cost.

How long after the wedding will my photos be ready?

It usually takes 10-14 days after the wedding for the photos to be ready to view.  May and September our our peak months so please be patience as we may have over 15 weddings on each of those months and it will take a bit longer!  Once the pictures are ready, you are invited to go online to make your selection.  When you've made your selection it takes about 10-14 days for the prints and album to be ready for pickup or delivery.

What kind of albums do you have to offer?

We offer a very nice heirloom quality matted album with our Prints Value and Top Value package.  We also offer a smaller matching parent album.  We can also customize a magazine style album for you.  Please ask us about this as each one is customize and the cost will vary depending on the cover, how many pages, etc.

I now also offer the magazine or flush type digital albums.  They're really great, an it really is a perfect way to present the pictures I take of your wedding. You can see the details about it under the Rate's section of my site.

    What area do you cover?

I cover all of the northern California and Central California.  I'll go to Southern California on a case-by-case scenario.

What if I have to change my wedding date?
This will be handled on a case-by-case basis.  As a rule, the futher your wedding date is, the more flexible I can be.  If I'm not availalbe for your new date you may select one of my associate photographers if they are available.  You will also be responsible for paying the new price if there has been a price increase.  You will forfet any deposit or monies paid if you cancel the contract for whatever reasons.
